The Big Launch

The last 10 months have been extremely busy, working towards the launch of our breath-taking wedding venue. We knew we wanted to enter the wedding world with a bang so we set about making some BIG plans!

Work started to develop 10-acres of our wonderful parkland into somewhere even more magical than it already was. Our dream was clear, we wanted to create a wedding venue like no other. We had the foundations in place, a stunning location, a wonderful 3 bedroomed property and enough space for marquees and tipis to be built.

But now it was time to think about the logistics…
We set about finding the best suppliers in the North West. We are extremely lucky in the Ribble Valley to have so many wonderful suppliers on our doorstep, but we wanted to stand out from the crowd and our search took us all over the North of England.

We had a wonderful car parking area with barn and needed to transport guests from here to the wedding venue, the answer was simple…golf buggies.

Then there were the legal formalities, we needed a premises licence for the sale of alcohol, so I set about undertaking a day’s course at Daniel Thwaites Brewery in Blackburn.

The list goes on and on!

We decided to host a VIP Launch Evening on Thursday 28th September and invited wedding planners, press and local suppliers. It was a wonderful evening! Entertainment was provided by DFC Lancashire, canapes by With a Twist, photography by Lottie Designs, venue styling by Qube Events and Brides Little Helper and fireworks by Optimum Fireworks.

When arriving at the marquee, guests were in high spirts after their golf buggy ride and were certainly wowed by the whole experience.

A launch evening wouldn’t have been complete without a gin bar and signature Mrs Peacock cocktail on arrival (well not in my world anyway!)

Social media erupted and it was a huge relief to see the wonderful comments from all who had attended.

Following on from such a successful launch evening, the weekend saw us opening our doors for our Wedding Open Day and Wedding Fair. As we opened our doors, we eagerly anticipated the arrival of our guests, it’s always a little nerve wracking wondering if anyone would come. However, both days were well attended and it was lovely to hear so many wonderful comments about our wedding venue. It’s always nice to meet couples and their families, and Wedding Open Days really do provide the perfect opportunity to see the Estate full of life and thoroughly enjoy our wedding venue.
I love spending the day talking to couples about their wedding plans and hearing all their wonderful ideas. Whether its potential new couples or our current Gisburne Park Estate couples it’s always a delight to spend the day with them.

When we closed our doors on Sunday afternoon, it was time to raise a thoroughly deserved glass of champagne and toast to the future of Gisburne Park Estate.

Personally, the week was full of mixed emotions including nerves, excitement and a huge sense of achievement and relief once the fireworks had started on Thursday evening. The whole team have worked extremely hard on this journey to get to where we are now, and I for one cannot wait to see what the future holds for us.
